Christian Cleric urges Muslims to remember IDPs ,Destitutes ,Almajarai, Inmates during Sallah :
As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-fitr after the siting of the new month of Shawwal , which marks the end of Ramadan, Christian cleric congratulate Muslims and urge them to use lesson learnt during the 30 days of the holy month to promote peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance during the festivity and beyond.
The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry , Sabon-Tasha, Kaduna State North-west , Pastor Yohanna Buru during an interview with some journalists in Kaduna said “Ramadan is one of the pillars upon which Islam is built, hence Muslims are called upon by Almighty Allah to observe 29 or 30 days of fasting.
While stressing the importance of alms given, Buru said ,”This year’s Ramadan season has recorded huge success in view of the encouraging participation by various Christian organizations during Iftar period to enhance inter-faith activities with other religious believers to strengthening peaceful co-existence.
“We congratulate you for the successful completion of the 30 Days Ramadan, the prayers and fasting you offered, which include some special night prayers for peace and unity in Nigeria,and may Almighty answered your prayers to keep us together in peace and Harmony.”
Buru however , emphasized the importance of remembering the internally Displaced Person IDPs, Destitute, widows, Orphans and Inmates and also the Mentally challenged person during the sallah celebration.
While commending wealthy individuals, Corporate organizations and governments for assisting the needy during the period ,he said there is need to help them with Food stuff,news clothes, shelter in other to immensely enables them celebrate the season with joy and happiness.
Buru pointed out clearly that “As Islam and Christianity teach us to forgive one another,we should also remember that we are from one family Adam and Eve, worshiping one God, believe in paradise and hell, and believe in the holy books which are Bible and Qur’an ,as well as believe in the day of resurrection,therefore we must be our brothers keeper .”
Pastor Buru further said , “It is also in response to the good wishes to Christians expressed by Muslim clerics during our holy month of Easter for successful 40 days fasting; so, we are here to wish them same as brothers, Happy sallah and happy eid-el-fitr,
Additionally,the Christian cleric said, the church has gathered some food stuff to be distributed to some Muslims such as the street Beggars, widows, in-mates and orphans at the orphanage homes,in other to immensely reduce the hardship faced by many Nigerians, so as to make them happy during the sallah festivity seasons”the Economic hardship is really getting Tougher and Tougher and the masses are finding it extremely difficult to eat food 3 times daily.”
Buru who said on behalf of all pastors ,reverends ,evangelists and the entire members of his ministry, wish Muslims all over the planet “Barka da sallah” , called on parents to watch over movement of their children to avert missing kids during the festivity.
Meanwhile, Reverend David Abaya and Evangelist Jonathan appealed to wealthy individuals , philanthropists and Governments to donate food to Destitutes,Almajirai and IDps for Allah’s Blessing.
In their separate mesaages ,Pastor Maxwell Sanda , Pastor Titus Joshia Ishaku and Pastor Joel Zigo urged drugs enforcement agencies to redouble their efforts in the fight against drug abuse .
They appealed to parents and guardians to guard against children interacting with Bad friends
The men of God warned youth on the dangers of drug abuse ,reckless driving on high-ways during this festivity, and appealing to state government to provide adequate security at any social gathering , parks to forestall any form of security threat.
Alaramma Abdulrahman Mohammad Bichi is one of the Islamic scholar in Kaduna, heart of the Northern City of Nigeria who said some christian clerics have sent SMS and phone calls to congratulate him over the successful completion of the holy month.
Bichi expressed satisfaction over the kind relationship between Muslims and Christians in the state adding , “We are really grateful for the kind gesture Christians offer to Muslims from the beginning of the holy month to the end and prayed that God bless them .
Bichi thanked ECWA Church for distributing Tons and hundreds bags of rice and other food stuffs to Muslims ummah during the Ramadan and Christ Evangelical Church for sharing over 500 takeaway packs of Food and drinks to Muslims.
