Sale of KDSG Houses: Committee Announces Bid Opening Date:
Winning bids for Kaduna State Government residential quarters will be revealed on Tuesday, 6th June 2017.
A statement from the committee managing the process said the bids will be opened at 10am in the presence of officials from the anti-graft agencies, and accounting giant Deloitte, the consultants to the process.
The Committee on the Sale of Kaduna State Government Residential Quarters noted that members of the public were given a 90-day window to submit bids for the houses. The Committee said that it welcomes the enthusiastic participation of interested bidders, acknowledging that many bids had been submitted by the deadline.
The sales process for the government residential quarters was launched following a decision of the Kaduna State Executive Council to sell the houses, and save the funds used in renovating and maintaining them. The government decided to exempt houses occupied by judges, and those quarters sited in schools, hospitals and the premises of the water corporation. About 1,990 houses were offered for sale.
In giving its approval for the sale, the Kaduna State Executive Council directed that the houses will be sold on their open market value. A notice of the sales was published on Monday, 27th February 2017, and the Valuation Report on all the properties listed for sale was made available on the state government website, http://www.kdsg.gov.ng.
The guidelines for the sales stipulate that no property will be sold below its open market value, and that the highest bid on each property will be declared winner.
