Kaduna State government has charged the network of persons living with HIV /AIDS in the State to intensify efforts and ensure sustainability of their public enlightenment program.
Kaduna State Head of Service ,Hajiya Bari-atu Yusuf Mohammed made the appeal during an advocacy visit to her office by the network of persons living with HIV/AIDs .
The Head of Service , who was represented by the permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mr. Nuhu Buzum, commended the group for their efforts in public enlightenment, which she said has to a large extent reduce stigmatization and spread of the disease .
While urging them to maintain the tempo, she reiterated the state government’s commitment to reducing the spread of the disease across the state, noting that government is working with relevant agencies to curb the menace.
She assured the group of government’s readiness to support the quest to overcome the challenges associated with HIV/AIDS control in the State.
Earlier, the leader of the group Comrade Bala Ismail,who is the Kaduna State Coordinator of the network ,appealed to the State government to integrate victims rendering voluntary services in government facilities into the state civil service to reduce unemployment of victims.
He however appealed for support from government through the office of the Head of Service to embark on a serious awareness campaign to fight the disease and stigmatization.
Comrade Bala thanked Kaduna state government for the support through the state Ministry of Health and Kaduna state Aids control Agency.
