Why Borno Rep , Betara Can’t Be Recalled-Constituents:
Supporters of Hon. Aliyu Muktar Betara representing Biu, Kwaya-Kusar, Shani, Bayo federal constituency of Borno state in the House of Representatives have said the lawmaker has performed well and cannot be recalled by anybody.
His constituents operating on the platform of Betara Support Group (BSG) led by Alhaji Mohammed Mamman an APC stakeholder in Biu local government in a statement yesterday in Biu said those calling for his recall were ‘mischievous and enemies of progress’ who can only do so on Facebook and online media.
Recently, an article published online claimed that a group, Biu Concerned Citizens had on Saturday called for the recall of the third term lawmaker.
But in a sharp reaction, the Betara Support Group dismissed the postulations of the Concerned Citizens as a ‘ ranting of some disgruntled elements in the constituents who are sponsored by enemies of the lawmaker’ insisting that Betara has performed ‘creditable well in the last ten years as a member of the House”
The BGS said contrary to the misinformation by the so called concerned citizens’ Betrara had in the last ten years represented the constituency creditably well which informed the decision of the electorate to keeping returning him to the National Assembly.
Additionally, Hon. Betara, according to the group has sponsored people-oriented motions which attracted development not only to his constituency but to Borno state and the North East region.
According to the group, “Betara single handedly sponsored the motion for the rehabilitation of the Biu-Gombe road, and through his influence the Federal ministry of works indicated that African development bank will repair and rehabilitate the road.”
They maintained that through the hard work of Betara, the FERMA is currently working to tackle erosion on the Gombe-Bayo road.
‘Besides, Hon Berara visits his constituency regularly and there could not have been any basis for any protest if not for the organized conspiracy of some failed politicians who are bent on denting his image because of 2019”
According to BSG, “Betara has provided Jobs for over 150 indigenes of the state not only in his constituency. With over 500 officers recruited into the military and other paramilitary organisations.
They said only “recently the lawmaker constructed Biu Central primary school with 14 class rooms, 4 blocks of 8 class room in Barki primary school, 4 class room in Shani, 4 in Bayo , Primary health care centre in Shani and in Miringa (Biu)”
Also, Hon. Betara has sunk “Motorised borehole in kwayakusar Local government and built Primary health care in kwayakusar in Wuyo Bayo local government.
Similarly, Hon. Betara has provided over 70 mass transit buses, and distributed over 500 motor cycles, supplied over 500 grinding machines, over 500 Sewing machines.
“Presently the member is going home to commission most of these projects and to give his constituency empowerment for 2016 which includes hospital beds deep freezers, generators, sewing machines etc”
“He has been supportive of stake holders of the constituency and if there is anybody that doubts these should go and cross check”
The group insisted that “Only performance will make them elect him 3 times into the House and because he has performed creditable well they will continue to elect him”
The BSG noted that as true party man, Hon. Betara had during the absence of the president “started the #IstandwithBuhari campaign and prayers were offered for his quick recovery of the President.”
It is also a well known fact that Hon. Betara is the most closest person to Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The cordial relations between the Speaker and the President is known to all Nigerians.
The House has been very supportive of the President’ s policies and programmes all thanks to the foresight of Hon. Betara and his colleagues who are the bulwark of the present leadership.
We strongly advise those writing the fictitious articles online to do themselves some good and visit the constituency to see the numerous projects being executed by Hon. Betara.
We have never had it this good as far as representation is concerned.
