Kaduna State Bush-Hunters Association have said they are adequately prepared to support government ,religious leaders to tackle insecurity and promote peaceful co-existence among different faith based organizations.
The Chairman of Kaduna State Bush-Hunters Association, Mallam Habibu sa’id also known as “Bala mai Angara” made this known during an interactive section between team of Muslims and Christians clerics with traditional title holders headed by pastor Yohanna buru and some groups of Non governmental organization NGOs and Civil societies organization CSO in Kaduna.
Mallam Habibu disclosed that bush hunters have acquired experiences ,which have been used to tackle insecurity problems , settle dispute ,communal clashes and street fights among different youth groups known as “The Gangs or the mafia” in all the 23 local government areas of the state
While noting that hunters every were in Nigeria are peace loving people, he stressed, “That is why they always endeavour to ensure peace reigns anywhere they found themselves “.
” We have participated in peace mission and settling dispute among various communities and groups for many years .
” We are ready to support Government in the area of promoting peace, security and development as well as fight against Terrorism, cattle rustling ,Kidnappers, Armed robbery, pipe-line vandalization,and exposing all the criminal hide-out
Habibu however appealed to state and federal government to always remember hunters ,considering the various contribution to the society.
Responding on behalf of the leader of the Delegation ,Pastor Yohanna Buru,who is the General overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry ,Sabon-Tasha,Kaduna State ,Nigeria commended the hunters and urged them to remain focused .
According to him , meeting with the union of Bush-hunters in Nigeria is not only interesting ,but also enlightening .
Meanwhile he said, “We are changing peace strategies from local and international conferences to visiting all the groups in their various communities and places and from “ghetto-to ghetto”,village-to-villages, so that we that we can talk about practical peace and dialogue in all the various ways.
“We are now taking peace campaign to different places across the country, which includes using sport, visiting every peace stakeholders at their local communities, visiting Mosques and Churches, Temples and shrine ,traditional believer ,and Youth leaders at their places of smoking “Jungle” and also taking the peace campaign to all the local traditional boxing leagues competition Centre to preach peace.
In her remark, hajiya Maryam Abubakar who is the Director of Womenhood School of Health Science ,Kaduna, called on Nigerians to contribute their quota in bringing back peace and unity in the northern region,so as to reduce educational gap between North and southern part of the country.
In his contribution during the interaction between the hunters and clerics in Kaduna ,Mallam lawal Maduru known as mallam Niggar , warned youth against taking hard drugs. Adding , ” We have discovered that drugs are responsible for crime and other societal ills ” .
He therefore urged government to introduce laws that guide against drug abuse and trafficking.
