Senators Pledge Support First Kaduna  NUJ – Attahiru Jega National Colloquium
Senators from the three Senatorial Districts of Kaduna State at the National Assembly (NASS) have expressed their willingness and readiness to give their support towards the success of the Maiden edition of the Attahiru Jega National Colloquium.

The national colloquium which is organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna council and the office of the Vice President, North West Zone of NUJ ‎in collaboration with Pax Community Partnership Projects (PCPP) is expected to feature personalities from within and outside the shores of the country in attendance.

The national colloquium on Elections, Corruption and Road Map to 2019 is themed: “2015 polls’ reminiscence; Lessons, Post-Script and Imperatives of Rule of Law” to be discussed with renown resource persons.

Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North Senatorial District who received the leadership of the Kaduna Council and management of PCPP in his Abuja office on a courtesy visit commended NUJ for such a well thought program which he said is apt.

According to the Senator, “it is a well chosen program, particularly in the developing history of our democracy, and choosing  a celebrity in the history of democracy in Nigeria is well thought of.

“Professor Jega is one of the modern day trusted personality when it comes to transparency of conducting elections in this country.

“In the light of this, in whatever humble way, we will be proud to be part of the program as a way of bringing our contributions for our modern day democracy, as a matter of fact, my office can be used as a liaison office particularly to reach out to other NASS members that may be required to play one role or the other” he promised.

On his part, Senator representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Senator Danjuma La’ah who was also received the delegation in his Abuja office also assured to make himself available for whatever assistance that may be required from him.

Although, Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani was not in office as at the time of visit to NASS, a source close to him said, the Senator will be willing at any time to contribute his quota  to any developmental program.

A similar visit to the office of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Honourable Yakubu Dogara received a nod, as their Aides promised to facilitate a courtesy visit to the principal officers.

 The delegation to the National Assembly was led by the Kaduna Council Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf, Vice President NUJ, Northwest zone Comrade Yusuf Idris, director PCPP and Coordinator of the program Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim and Chairman Pax group, Ambassador Pax Joel among others.
