Over 100 Houses ,150 Shops destroyed in Separate Kebbi Fire -NEMA
No fewer than 100 houses, 150 shops and other properties worth millions of naira were destroyed following two separate fire outbreaks in Tsamiya and Faikai Local Government Areas of Kebbi state.
The Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu visited the scene of the disaster and was briefed on the incidents by Nema Sokoto Head of Operations, Mal. Suleiman Muhammad who led other staff of the agency for an assessment exercise of damages caused by the ravaging fire.
The agency’s officials and other stakeholders in a joint assessment discovered that the inferno which occurred in succession within seven days also affected Animal farms, food stuffs stored for reservation and other household items were damaged by the inferno.
The Governor meanwhile commiserate with the victims of the incidents; to take solace of what has occurred and accept it as a trial from Allah.
However, NEMA’s Mal. Suleiman urged the public to always adhere to the clarion call of the agency on fire prevention especially at this critical time of the season.
He therefore warned the general public to take precautionary method and be wary as most causes of fire disaster are human induced due to negligence.
