Police arrest 3 suspected killers of  Fulani herdsmen in Southern Kaduna 


Kaduna Police Command  has paraded three suspects linked to the killing of  two Fulani herdsmen at Southern Kaduna  on Saturday.

The Commissioner of Police, Agyole Abeh, who briefed journalists at the Police Headquarters on Monday , explained that the two Fulani herdsmen were grazing their livestock , when they were killed on March 11th at Unguwan Luka in Jema’a Local Government Area.

According to Abeh,  the  three suspects were arrested following  a tip-off by Good Samaritans within the village .

While informing  that the suspects had made confessional statements and would  soon be charged to court, he reiterated that peace was gradually returning to southern Kaduna, and urged the general public  to go about their normal businesses.

Abeh also assured of the command’s readiness and commitment in providing secure environment to all citizens and solicited for more support from the public to enable police personnel discharge their duties more effectively.

“I want to assure the people of the state of my resolve to flush out all forms of crime and criminality in the area,” he said.

He further said , “As peace is gradually returning to the Southern part of Kaduna, Some persons are bent in ensuring that such efforts are truncated as witnessed few days ago in which some criminal elements from one of communities in Kafanchan attacked and killed two herdsmen while grazing their livestock.

“The arrest of the suspects who killed the herdsmen on the 11th March, 2017 at Unguwan Luka is a clear indication of our determination to bring to justice any one or group of persons found to be engaged in act of disrupting the peace in the state and Southern Kaduna in particular.

“It will be recalled that in one of my press briefing precisely on 3rd February, 2017 I paraded five (5) gunmen suspected to have carried out the attack at Samarun Kataf who are already facing court processes.” 

The Police Commissioner assured citizens of the state of his  resolve and total commitment in ensuring that all forms of crime and criminalities are brought under control so that citizens will be free to carryout their lawful businesses without any form of molestation.

He however , thanked the media  for being bridge builders between the people and the State Police Command .
