…Prays for Buhari’s Quick Recovery
Yoruba Community Council in Northern Nigeria has declared that the entire Yoruba land is not interested in President Mohammadu Buhari’s seat.
Speaking to journalists after the Community organised a joint prayer section for President Buhari who returned from United Kingdom last week, 10th March, 2017, where he had gone for medical vacation, the President General of Yoruba Community in the entire North, Alhaji Abdulganiyu I. Oguntoyimbo said the people of the Southwest had no reason to drag the position with Buhari.
The Yoruba community in the 19 Northern States and Federal Capital City, Abuja decided to organise joint prayer section for president Buhari in Kaduna last week Saturday.
“There is no Yoruba man that is praying for Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo to succeed Buhari. The relationship between the two of them is very cordial. As a matter of fact, Yoruba’s relationship with Buhari administration is cordial. We support him totally and if we support anybody we don’t go back. We are with Buhari yesterday, today, tomorrow and always. We believe that what he is doing is not just for today but for tomorrow.
“What is Yoruba’s missing in Buhari’s presidency? Nothing, so occupying Buhari’s seat is not our priority now but good governance.
“Who rules is not the priority but a leader with focus and direction and we have seen that in Buhari that is why we have gathered here today to pray for him,” he said
Alhaji Oguntoyimbo said his community also prayed for peace to reign in Ile-Ife and Southern Kaduna.
In their own comments, Alhaji Yahaya Abdulmalik, the Chief Imam of Ansarur-Islam Society of Nigeria, Kaduna branch and Pastor Joshua Ojumoola who conducted the prayer section said they prayer for the president was necessary and timely according to the dictate of the two religion.
They urged Nigerians to continue praying for President Buhari so that God can grant him sound health to continue to lead Nigeria to the right direction.
It will be recalled that President Buhari left Nigeria for United Kingdom for a 10 days visit and medical vacation but ended up staying for about 50 days.
