Kaduna State Governor , Malam Nasir El-Rufai and the Emir of Kano , Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi today visited the Kaduna Residence of the late 18th Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki to commiserate with family .
While at the residence , the Governor and Emir joined other sympathisers to pray for soul of the late Sultan to have eternal rest .
Speaking with journalists shortly after the visit , Governor El-Rufai said the Late Sultan Dasuki was considered, “Our father for a very long time . We are all regular visitors to this house .”
El-Rufai ,who described the Late Dasuki as a ” Father and mentor to all” further said , ” We pray for his soul to rest in peace .May God bless those he left behind .
“We join other Nigerians to commiserate with the family and pray that God grants the family fortitude to bear the loss.”
On his thought about the late Sultan’s legacies , he said , ” I Have been a member of the family and it’s very difficult to comment on someone I consider as my father.
“But his legacies are many from his contribution to Islam and as a Sultan .”
